The root problem is that the GNU Radio project now releases the usrp library as part of the overall GNU software. So to install the USRP library, you need to download the GNU Radio tarball and build it. We should check if there is a way to build only the USRP support stuff.

We need to move away from the libusrp we have been using to fix this problem and to correct another problem with the USRP hanging up after one use that occurs with recent kernels.

Se the section called "Installing the USRP library from GNU Radio" at wiki:InstallationGuide to install the usrp library from GNU Radio. This is the best way to install the usrp library containing important bug fixes.

We should make the needed changes to the USRP library to support these daughterboards.

Also note the RFX 1800 is scheduled for end of life now. To be replaced with another daughterboard covering the same range and more.

Should we close this as do not fix? We could enable the code forcing everyone to upgrade to the current gnu radio code (which they should do anyway). Or just close the bug and see if anyone ever notices we do not support this daughterboard?

I am fine with just closing the bug.
